Short Biography

My name is Carles Fernandez Prades and I serve as a Senior Researcher at CTTC, a public research foundation located near Barcelona, Spain. My academic contributions can be checked at https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9201-7007

My background is related to statistics, communication and navigation systems, and digital signal processing, but all the Computer Science stuff have been kind of self-taught. I started developing free and open source software a decade ago, mainly in the GNSS-SDR project (see https://gnss-sdr.org), which I have been packaging and uploading for Debian since 2016 (see https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/gnss-sdr), with the help of the Debian Hamradio group.

I would like to become a Debian Maintainer in order to avoid being dependant on sponsors to upload new versions for the package I maintain, and probably to help others to do so.
