Hello,
my name is Evangelos (devrtz),
I'm a little over 30 years old and I've been using Linux for more than 10 years and more than 7 years as my sole operating system.
Using it daily I was amazed to find I was learning something new every day. My journey led me from Xubuntu to Manjaro then Gentoo
(which was mostly [but not always] fun) and finally Debian Bullseye.
My journey to Debian started about 1 year ago in March 2020 after having received my Pinephone Braveheart Edition.
I came across a post[1] by Arnaud Ferraris in the pine64 forums announcing the Mobian project[2] which is a Debian based project to bring Debian to mobile devices.
After trying it out I immediately knew that I wanted to help out in whatever way I could.
To cut a long story short: I've contributed upstream, learned Debian packaging and helped bring some of the packages needed for a good mobile experience into Debian
as part of the DebianOnMobile team[3]. I am very grateful to Guido Guenther, Arnaud Ferraris and Henry-Nicolas Tourneur who showed me the ropes
and were always willing to help me along the way with links to documentation, suggestions and package reviews.
I am committed to continue packaging my work[4] and add more software to my packaging portfolio.
My main areas of interest are applications for mobile using the GNOME ecosystem, VoIP applications and scientific software.
I think I would be a good addition to the Debian team as I've proven to take my responsibilities for my packages seriously.
I always want to learn more, deeply believe in free software and am enthusiastic about becoming part of a volunteer-driven organization.
Thank you for your attention,
Evangelos
