Dennis van Dok

I am a Linux user since 1996 (slackware 3.1), Debian user since 1998. For a brief period during my professional career as a software engineer I used Mac OS X on Apple hardware, but I went back to Debian for laptops once that worked more or less OK without too much hassle.

I hold a university degree (University of Amsterdam) in computer science. I worked at scientific institutes since 1999.

Currently I am employed at Nikhef (the Dutch National Institute for Subatomic Physics) as a system administrator/DevOps engineer for high-throughput scientific computing. I work with Linux every day as our compute clusters of several thousand cores runs on Linux. We will likely migrate a good number of services to Debian since the recent change in direction from Red Hat has thrown doubt on the ability of derived project to remain compatible.
