Short Biography

I'm a computer science teacher at a technical high school in Italy, with a degree in Computer Science and a long-standing interest in software development, operating systems, and system administration.

I've been using Unix-like systems and Free Software for many years, both professionally and personally. My main programming languages are C and C++, and I particularly enjoy working with system libraries, low-level software, and the technical details of how things work.

My involvement with Debian grew naturally out of my experience as a user and system administrator. Over time, I became interested in contributing directly to the distribution, particularly through package maintenance.

I've contributed to Debian through packaging work and sponsored uploads, including libdrpm, zchunk, and libmseed, and more recently I've been working on libvisual. These experiences have helped me become familiar with Debian packaging practices, quality standards, and collaborative development.

My immediate goal is to become a Debian Maintainer, allowing me to take direct responsibility for uploads of packages for which I receive authorization, without relying on sponsorship for every upload.

More generally, I'd like to continue contributing to Debian over the long term, particularly in the areas of C/C++ libraries and system software. I see this as an opportunity to give something back to a Free Software community whose work I've benefited from for many years.

I value careful engineering, maintainability, and constructive technical discussion, and I hope to bring these principles to my contributions to Debian.
