Short Biography
I am Ivan Hu, a Linux kernel and software engineer at Canonical. I have been working with Linux and open source software for over a decade, with a focus on kernel/hardware enablement and firmware testing.
My primary contributions to Debian include maintaining the ACPICA (acpica-unix) package and some TPM packages. I am also the maintainer of the Firmware Test Suite (fwts), an open-source project recognized by the UEFI Forum, currently available in Ubuntu. Both acpica-unix and fwts are tools for UEFI/ACPI firmware validation and development on Linux systems. I came to Debian through my deep involvement in the Ubuntu ecosystem, where I regularly develop and upload packages, contribute kernel patches upstream, and collaborate with OEM partners on hardware enablement. I appreciate Debian's commitment to software freedom and its role as the foundation for many distributions.
As a Debian Maintainer, my goal is to maintain ACPI-related tools (acpica-unix) in Debian and continue improving hardware compatibility in the free software ecosystem.
