My first contact with Linux was around 2000 with SuSE Linux 6.4. I bought the CD set in a local shop and it came with a nice printed book from which I leaned a lot at that time. A few years later I started using Debian 3.0 (woody) and have been with Debian since then. While I was involved in other projects my contributions to Debian in the beginning were mainly by reporting bugs and interacting in the BTS. In 2021 I became more active within Debian and eventually became a co-maintainer of the xen source package. Later I added some python packages to the list of packages I maintain. I very much like the way Debian operates, which is also why I stuck with it for so long. I want to become a DM to make it easier to maintain my packages as well as helping in other areas in Debian. As Debian runs on all my machines as well as on the servers I maintain, I want to make sure it stays a very good operating system.
