I am Timo Röhling, I'm working on science related packages with focus on robotics.
After a few unsuccessful attempts to get SuSE Linux running on my Windows computer in 2000, a friend of mine introduced me to Debian, and I've never looked back since. ;-) I'm using Debian and Ubuntu pretty much every day.
I started packaging for Ubuntu around 2008 with my first full-time job after university, mostly for company-internal purposes, because it's so much easier to install and upgrade software this way. My packaging work became more public with the Robot Operating System (ROS) and my own catkin_lint tool, which also led to my involvement with Debian proper. Currently, I am also maintaining the excellent Intel Open3D library and its dependencies. I'm happy to help with packaging where I can.
