Hi,
I'm Simon, hailing from Brittany, France. A decade ago, I used to maintain a handful of Python packages within the DPMT and PAPT, eventually becoming a DM — I was known as laarmen on IRC. Alas, life got in the way: I didn't have any time for Free Software, eventually fell MIA, and even lost the private key associated with my DM status.
Fast forward a decade, I started working for the Foundations team at Canonical, becoming Ubuntu Core Dev then Archive Admin. My work there has varied, from libssl3 transition to glibc maintenance, with splashes of Rust toolchain maintenance. I usually don't focus too much on individual packages but rather on the archive as a whole, fixing up lots of different packages.
That last part is where I intersect with Debian: I would forward fixes whenever it makes sense.
My goal when becoming DD is to be able to actually upload some of those fixes in team-maintained packages, and help sponsor other folk's work, similarly to what I already do for Ubuntu.
