I picked up free software at school, building Linux From Scratch and joining open-source projects. I went on to work in ops and infrastructure, deploying Debian-based systems, and now I am a Solutions Architect who stays hands-on.

In Debian I co-maintain libloc, an IP-to-location resolution library, and libloc-database, its data package. I make sure packaging is set up according to best practices (be it lintian cleanness, or uscan consistency), prepare upstream releases for the Debian archive with my uploads currently sponsored, and forward patches between Debian and upstream. Outside Debian I contribute reports and patches to tools I depend on, which is how I ended up at libloc in the first place. My plan is straightforward - to keep libloc current, continuing contributions on packaging, and ensuring the archive stays in sync.

My motivation is practical - I believe there should be solid tools available for all the fundamental tasks, such as being able to scope nftables rules to specific countries with as little hassle as possible. As Debian is my go-to base, this is where I want to contribute my effort towards.
