I am Ajayi Olatunji O., from Nigeria, my pronouns are he/him. I came to Debian and Free Software through Outreachy, I was an intern at the recently completed May'21 to August'21 Outreachy internship cycle and I worked with the JS team, my primary assignment was to create a yarn plugin that resolves node modules installed as Debian packages via apt (https://salsa.debian.org/js-team/yarn-plugin-apt).
In the few months I have been active at Debian, apart from building the plugin I have been able to successfully package some new and update existing modules which were sponsored by my Outreachy mentors and other members of the JS team, among which are node-memfs, node-vue-hot-reload-api, node-boom.
I choose to volunteer my time because before my internship I had read so many great things about open source, at some point before now I had read the Debian social contract and it is filled with ideologies I have always thought to be ideal, and having the opportunity to be a part of the application of such ideologies is a great blessing to me.
I believe contributing and volunteering my time to help improve a community that powers lots of world revolutionary technologies is a perfect way for me to give back to the world.
My primary area of interest is packaging modules for Debian, I would also love to build tools for the Debian teams when and where necessary, I have seen some of the works of people like Yadd and Praveen and I would love to help improve Debian in that capacity and even more.
