existing work within Debian and believe it to be of a sufficient standard that they can be
trusted with upload rights to the packages they maintain.
Please be verbose if you can. You may want to write the advocacy in a

For nm.debian.org, at 2022-10-04:
I support Taavi Väänänen <hi@taavi.wtf>'s request to become a Debian Maintainer.
I have worked with Taavi Väänänen on packaging src:mediawiki and
src:mediawiki-extension-codemirror. Most recently he updated the
MediaWiki packaging for the upcoming 1.39 LTS release. His work is great and
he's always receptive to feedback on how to improve.
Outside of Debian I regularly work with Taavi in Wikimedia development, where
he has "+2" merge rights, and is a sysadmin for our MediaWiki cluster. He's
demonstrated sufficient technical competence, a commitment to free software
and acts in line with other Debian values and principles.
I know Taavi Väänänen can be trusted to have upload rights for their own
packages, right now.
