I support Joachim Zobel <jz-2017@heute-morgen.de>'s request to become a Debian
Maintainer.
I have worked with Joachim Zobel on packaging GAP (<https://www.gap-system.org>)
since September 2020 and I consider Joachim as having sufficient technical competence.

During this time, I has acted as mentor and sponsor for Joachim, which leads
to ten new packages related to GAP in the archive that Joachim packaged and now
maintains: gap-aclib gap-browse gap-congruence gap-cryst gap-crystcat gap-fga
gap-hap gap-hapcryst gap-nq gap-polymaking. Joachim also made improvement to
gap2deb <https://salsa.debian.org/gap-packaging-team/gap2deb>.

I had very positive interactions with Joachim who is very thorough and is
dedicated to Debian policies when packaging, which leads to improvements to
my own packages too.

I have personally worked with Joachim Zobel <jz-2017@heute-morgen.de>
(key 1F2C95CCC17173AE68F06759FBE08DA64BF78AA9) for more than 2 years, and I
know Joachim Zobel can be trusted to have upload rights for their own packages,
right now.
