For nm.debian.org, at 2024-06-24:
I support Taihsiang Ho <e@tai271828.me>'s request to become a Debian Maintainer.
I have worked professionally with Tai at Canonical for many years, on the same team going back to 2019. During this time, I have developed a strong trust of Tai as an individual who believes in free software, and is meticulous about correctness.
Tai took over maintenance of the rshim-user-space package from me in 2023. Since then I have sponsored 5 uploads that Tai prepared, proposing all changes as pull requests on salsa. Tai follows a rigorous, repeatable process for making and testing changes. Since at least the introduction of the last 2 upstream releases, I've carefully reviewed, merged, and uploaded Tai's changes w/o any request for changes.
I find Tai to have the eagerness for following policy and best practices that I expect from a Debian Maintainer. He listens to feedback and is comfortable reaching out to other developers for recommendations on solving new-to-him technical problems, such as the migration from fuse2 to fuse3 and the FTBFS issues it caused (see #1064920).
I know Taihsiang Ho <e@tai271828.me> (key 7EED1C0013FF8BF68BB784ACE46E1CFA58944ABC) can be trusted to have upload rights for his package rshim-user-space, right now.
