I support Jongmin Kim <jmkim@pukyong.ac.kr>'s request to become a Debian Developer, non-uploading.
When it became apparent that it would no longer be possible to hold DebConf24 at its originally intended location, Jongmin led the bid for Busan to take on the responsibility of holding the conference at very short notice. In the space of just a few months, he coordinated not only a large and dedicated local team, but also our contacts with both the university and our main local sponsor. He displayed admirable pragmatism in sometimes rather adverse conditions, managing to solve all kinds of problems of varying sizes as they arose. All this, he did with a cheery smile and friendly wave. He is both extremely hard-working and very pleasant to work with.
I have personally worked with Jongmin Kim <jmkim@pukyong.ac.kr>
(key D3D7A23522B641FB78ACC775000001EFCF1A50FA) for the entire cycle of DebConf24 in Busan, and I know Jongmin Kim can be trusted to be a full member of Debian, right now.

I have long worked as part of the DebConf organization. Last year,
after it became clear we would not be able to hold the conference
in Israel as we originally planned, the South Korean bid –headed by
Jongmin– presented as the only viable solution.
Jongmin, together with the rest of the team, put up a lot of
incredible work within a timeframe way shorter than usual, and
managed to organize not just a regular DebConf, but a very smooth
and polished one.
I worked together with him in general conference coordination and
followed closely his work doing the impressively tedious and long
visa handling process. He is always calm, cheerful, a joy to work
with. I am very happy he is stepping up to become a full DD(-NU),
and hope his involvement in Debian continues to grow!
Throughout the organization, I have repeatedly interacted with him
using his OpenPGP key d3d7a23522b641fb78acc775000001efcf1a50fa, and
have validated and signed it after the conference.

For nm.debian.org, at 2024-10-19:
I support Jongmin Kim <jmkim@pukyong.ac.kr>'s request to become a Debian
Developer, non-uploading. I have worked with Jongmin Kim on ruby packages for
many months and I consider them as having sufficient technical competence.
In ruby team, the contribution was specifically ruby on rails version 5 to
version 6 transition as part of Google Summer of Code. Which involved lots of
complexity and many ruby package updates, but he managed to do it very well. He
also took up the challenge to organize DebConf in a short time and organized it
pretty well. He is very pleasant and should have been a Debian Developer long
back (if he had not taken a break in between).
I have personally worked with Jongmin Kim <jmkim@pukyong.ac.kr> (key
D3D7A23522B641FB78ACC775000001EFCF1A50FA) for many months, and I know Jongmin
Kim can be trusted to be a full member of Debian, right now.

I support Jongmin Kim <jmkim@pukyong.ac.kr>'s request to become a Debian Developer, non-uploading.
I have worked with Jongmin Kim on both packaging and non-packaging works since 2019 and I consider them as having sufficient technical competence.
I was his mentor for a GSoC project in 2019 where we worked for rails6 migration in Debian. In addition I am also familiar with his work towards making DebConf24 a grand success. He is a very competent person who is fit for being a Debian Developer (non-uploading) both philosophically and technically.
I have personally worked with Jongmin Kim <jmkim@pukyong.ac.kr> since 2019 (with his old key) and his new key is key D3D7A23522B641FB78ACC775000001EFCF1A50FA, and I know Jongmin Kim
can be trusted to be a full member of Debian, right now.

I support Jongmin Kim <jmkim@pukyong.ac.kr>'s request to become a Debian Developer, non-uploading.
I have worked with Jongmin as a member of DebConf24 organization local team. Before/during/after the conference, he worked hard as the chief of the local team. He volunteered and did well on lots of DebConf orga tasks, which many volunteers like to avoid, which include resolving conflicts of different sides, visa paperworks, financing and sponsor paperworks.
I have personally worked with Jongmin Kim <jmkim@pukyong.ac.kr>
(key D3D7A23522B641FB78ACC775000001EFCF1A50FA) for DebConf24 preparation time and the entire conference schedule, and I know Jongmin Kim can be trusted to be a full member of Debian, right now.
