I support Vladimir Petko <vladimir.petko@canonical.com>'s request to become a
Debian Maintainer. I have worked directly with Vladimir as a sponsor for the
jtreg7 [1] since May of 2024 and for numerous Java Team maintained packages
since 2023. Vladimir's contributions to the JDK 17 to 21 transition for Trixie
were significant, and I welcome Vladimir's involvement with Debian. (Much of
that work was in the form of bug triage and patches, so I don't have a UDD
query to share that highlights Vladimir's efforts here, but they number in
multiple dozens to hundreds at this point.)

Vladimir's technical and social competence is fully sufficient to have DM
upload rights for jtreg and other Java Team and OpenJDK Team packages, and
I trust that Vladimir will collaborate with other contributors productively.

This endorsement is for the NM application associated with key:

Thank you,
tony mancill

For nm.debian.org, at 2025-09-02:
I support Vladimir Petko <vladimir.petko@canonical.com>'s request to become a Debian Maintainer.
I have worked with Vladimir Petko on OpenJDK and related packages (jtreg, asmtools, visualvm) for several years and I consider them as having sufficient technical competence.

He also showed skills to prepare and do large transitions like the transition from OpenJDK 17 to OpenJDK 21, see

https://lists.debian.org/debian-java/2023/09/msg00001.html
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?tag=default-java21;users=debian-java@lists.debian.org

Vladimir is also active upstream in the OpenJDK project, filing bug reports and patches for OpenJDK.

I have personally worked with Vladimir Petko <vladimir.petko@canonical.com>
(key 8B401BEFE41B434C9048432CF63B668A969B07C0) for many years, and I know Vladimir Petko can be trusted to have upload rights for their own packages, right now.
