Declaration of intent

The most important requirement for changing status in Debian is to make sure that a person actually intends to do so.

I For nm.debian.org, at 2026-03-24:
I would like to apply to change my status in Debian to Debian Developer, uploading.

I have worked on sosreport and then sos package for almost 2 years, I spent a significant amount time to change the name of the package, and got this ironed out. I have been uploading into unstable, trixie-update and bookworm-updates on a regular basis. Just before contributing to the package, I was also began as a co-maintainer of the upstream project, so that this can correctly align with Debian and hence Ubuntu.

I am mentoring a couple of people to get them upto speed to upload to the sos package, but this can be extremely time consuming, and we're missing the deadline for the Ubuntu freeze to accommodate a new package as sponsoring takes a significant amount of time. So I am hoping as a DD, I can sponsor these packages so that it can be done a lot quicker, especially as I know the package well.

On top of this, I have been contributing to pdsh as an Uploader, and the package has been sponsored several times, again this can take some time to be sponsored. As a DD, I could speed this process up, and also help to get some of the issues in tracker, and clean things up.

I am also currently in the works of ITP for a package, which I plan to maintain Debian
