For nm.debian.org, at 2026-03-31:
I support Pieter Lenaerts <plenae@disroot.org>'s request to become a Debian Maintainer.

I have worked with Pieter Lenaerts on a number of packages in the Python Team,
an NMU bringing the opgpcard package back to life, and closely followed the
work Pieter did on beets. Over the course of the last 6 months I've seen Pieter
take on challenging tasks and I consider him as having sufficient technical
competence.

While we never met in person, interaction on the Team's IRC channel, the BTS,
and via private email has consistently been pleasant and respectful towards
both me and other contributors.

I have personally worked with Pieter Lenaerts <plenae@disroot.org>
(key 2B2E0E3FB52F5A53164CABCA05B8F2B072A0E0EB), and I know Pieter Lenaerts
can be trusted to have upload rights for their own packages, right now.

I've exchanged a few email on technical issues with Pieter Lenaerts, and met
them at the FOSDEM conference, feb 2026 in Brussels. We had a very pleasant
meeting and chat over lunch. (Unfortunately we didn't do keysigning then and
there; next time we meet I'll make sure we will!)

I consider Pieter a valuable contributor to the Debian project, interactions
with him have all been very good. It would be cool if we could grant Pieter
more rights when this is useful: giving him upload rights for beets would e.g.
be useful.

For nm.debian.org, at 2026-04-03:

I support Pieter Lenaerts <plenae@disroot.org>'s
request to become a Debian Maintainer.

I met Pieter in Brussels at Brewdog and we did key signing
(key 2B2E0E3FB52F5A53164CABCA05B8F2B072A0E0EB).

We had a nice extensive chat about Debian and
the technicities of the project.

I also sponsored some packages of Pieter on the "beets" package.

I fully trust him to continue on this package on his own.

Greetings

Alexandre
