I'm working in Natural Language Processing at the Centre of Language and Speech Technology, Radboud University Nijmegen. We create various open source software packages which we have contributed to Debian for quite some time (in the scope of debian-science to be precise), with the help of Debian Developer Joost van Baal-Ilić. I would like to apply for Debian Maintainer status to be able to better maintain and update the packages I contribute (see https://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=proycon@anaproy.nl) without bothering others, as the packages are currently too prone to getting outdated.
