Declaration of intent

The most important requirement for changing status in Debian is to make sure that a person actually intends to do so.

This requirement has been approved by Housekeeping Robot <nm@debian.org> 6 years, 5 months ago.

Hi,

I am Jean-Philippe. As a blind user, I have known and used Debian since 2004. I mainly contributed to accessibility team, as a tester and bug reporter. I also help Debian to have stands at FOSDEM (I did it four or five times) and in various French events. I attended Debconf Heidelberg. I am about starting to contribute more regularly to translation into French of Debian. I also maintained some packages (edbrowse, speech-tools, festival), even if I do not follow that due to low technical skills.

Now I use testing to ensure stable release will be acceptable for end-user of the desktop version of Debian. I contribute via Hypra to the project, paying for persons to package tools such as Compiz, speech-dispatcher and other accessibility tools, where I contribute upstream as well (in MATE in particular).

As a member of Debian-France organization, I would like to be able to help it better as a Secretary. Also would be interested in get more involved in the translation process.

I had never tried this process as so complicated. B

Best regards
