I am applying to change my status in Debian to Debian Maintainer. I have been a Debian Contributor for a little while [1] and I have enjoyed that quite a bit. I have been maintaining the packages for WorldForge [2], a project I work on upstream as well. I currently maintain nine of those packages in Debian and I'm working to resolve a licensing issue with upstream to package a tenth. An interim solution for that tenth package will hopefully be ready to upload in a matter of days. I'd like to eventually help with other things as well and hopefully one day become a Debian Developer.

About me: I've been administering from one to a dozen GNU/Linux systems since Slackware back in late 1994. I switched over to Debian sometime in 1995 and transitioned mostly to Ubuntu (and then to Xubuntu) for my desktops a few years ago. However, Debian still has a special place in my heart... and I know where almost all of the packages in Ubuntu come from! I've been watching from the sidelines for quite a while but I've been trying to give back a bit more over the past few years. I'd like to continue to do more. My programing skills aren't great but they've been improving as I've done more packaging work. I also have a good bit of experience with the technical side of website design (HTML/CSS/PHP/SQL/JavaScript) and with programming engineering models (MATLAB/GNU Octave/et al.).
