  It's now been far longer that I haven't been active in Debian than I ever
  was. While I was, though, I loved the project and community and so I
  always thought I would be able to return to a more active status. I have
  recently accepted a new position, though, that will make that extremely
  unlikely in the near future. I have hence decided to request to move to
  emeritus status.
