I support Gunnar Hjalmarsson <ubuntu@gunnar.cc>'s request to become
Debian Developer, uploading. I have worked with Gunnar Hjalmarsson
on updating im-config hook script (me as upstream) and packaging of
ibus-related packages to support the i18n (Asian) keyboard input
infrastructure of Debian for many times.

This field is missing capable contributors like Gunnar. I would like
him to be able to lead this field. On top of his technical skill,
his good balance of patience and boldness to engage good discussion
is very helpful for this. (I and he had some disagreements before
on some technical points. He was able to convince me on some points
while accepting some of my points.)

For nm.debian.org, at 2021-01-05:
I support Gunnar Hjalmarsson <ubuntu@gunnar.cc>'s request to become Debian Developer, uploading.
I have worked with Gunnar Hjalmarsson for quite a while around input method
packages, including packages like im-config, ibus, libpinyin,
ibus-libpinyin, etc.

Having a new enthuastic developer with good technical skills in Debian is surely
beneficial. Besides, I believe Gunnar acts a new tie on cooperation between
Debian and Ubuntu on packages that both sides care about.
I believe Gunnar Hjalmarsson can be trusted to be a full member of Debian,
and have unsupervised, unrestricted upload rights, right now.

I've worked with Gunnar for several years now mainly due to my "day job" work
on the Canonical desktop team. Most of this work has been in Ubuntu,
admittedly, but also some has taken place in Debian - we try to work upstream
wherever it is possible to do so. Gunnar's a strong contributor to the fields
of input methods and language support more generally. We are seriously short of
capable people with an interest in this area, so I think we should grab the
opportunity to have Gunnar as a DD with both hands.

In short, I think Gunnar should have full upload rights to all of Debian, right
now.
