Hello NM,
Jussi is the original creator and main upstream of meson, and he has maintained
the Debian package for many years.
I support Jussi Pakkanen <jpakkane@gmail.com>'s request to become a Debian
Maintainer for meson. I have sponsored > 100 uploads for him since 2014, and
did not have to do any significant steering any more in years -- at most the
occasional minor beautification/nitpick.
He quickly reacts to bug reports [2] and keeps them under control [3], which is
especially important for such a central build system -- bugs quickly tend to
become release critical. He has proven to work self-sustained and responsibly
for many years.
I fully trust Jussi Pakkanen to handle meson package uploads by himself, and
ask for help/review if an "unusual" situation appears (like changing the
packaging structure).
