I've been writing software for Unix and derived operating systems for over 30 years. But I have written software for MacOS, BeOS, Windows (NT) and MacOS X as well, I e.g. wrote the source level debugger that came with BeOS. Since somewhere around 2000 I've been mainly writing software for use in the bio informatics field.

A lot of my software has been released as open source. Some notable contributions I made are libzeep, a library for building modern web applications in C++, this library contains everything from an XML parser and web server implementation to automatic REST and SOAP callback generation and XHTML templating. Other tools are more science oriented, like the crystallographic software tools and libraries.
