Lukas Märdian

My name is Lukas Märdian, I am 32 years old and live in Germany. I was self-employed for 4 years after studying Computer Science at TUM in Munich and in Beijing. Did a trip around the world in 2019 and started working as a Software Engineer for Canonical in early 2020, as part of the Ubuntu Foundations team. I maintain the netplan.io project and work with upstream and Debian developers on package maintenance. In the past I was also heavily involved in the OpenPhoenux/OpenMoko and FreeSmartphone.org projects and supported Debian's pkg-fso team with packaging, as well as doing Linux kernel development and developing smart contracts for various blockchain projects. As a Ubuntu core-developer I've had the chance to upstream several changes from the Ubuntu ecosystem (e.g.: git-buildpackage, streamlink, rust-cargo-outdated, pexpect, command-not-found, dh-make-perl, python-mkdocs, python-httplib2, procenv, ...) [0] as well as some older changes for the pkg-fso team (in 2012-2015) [1] and I would like to take a more active role in Debian. I became a co-maintainer and DM of the netplan.io package [2] in early 2022. Also, I'm a big fan of blockchain technologies and would like to help improving the availability and quality of blockchain software available in Debian.
