For nm.debian.org, at 2023-12-20:
I support Jeremy Paul Arnold Sowden <jeremy@azazel.net>'s request to
become a Debian Developer, uploading. I have worked with Jeremy Paul
Arnold Sowden as a member of the Debian Window Maker Team for 4 years
and I consider him as having sufficient technical competence.
Jeremy has an excellent understanding of C and of maintaining a package,
both upstream and in Debian. He has done considerable work over the last
several years revitalizing many Window Maker dockapps, many of which have
legacy code written over 20 years ago, for modern Debian systems. His
technical skills are excellent, he is quick to respond to bug reports, and
he is a pleasure to work with!
I have personally worked with Jeremy Paul Arnold Sowden
<jeremy@azazel.net> (key 8790309C15658B33994ECA9A4E142C216BDFC613) for
4 years, and I know Jeremy Paul Arnold Sowden can be trusted to be a
full member of Debian, and have unsupervised, unrestricted upload
rights, right now.

I have personally worked with Jeremy Sowden <jeremy@azazel.net>
8790309C15658B33994ECA9A4E142C216BDFC613 from near the beginning of 2023 as he
has become the de facto primary maintainer of shorewall.
He took a collection of multiple source packages which were difficult to work
with, and completely reworked the packaging from the ground up. The result is
that today the shorewall package is in sterling condition. Jeremy's work has
been exemplary and in every case where I have reviewed his work I have found it
to be of the highest caliber. He has consistently demonstrated a high level of
technical competence in multiple aspects of Debian packaging.
His work over the last 11 months has very clearly demonstrated that Jeremy can
be trusted to have full, unsupervised, unrestricted upload to the archive right
now.

I have worked with Jeremy Paul Arnold Sowden on Netfilter packages, such as nftables, iptables, contrack-tools
and a number of other libraries, over the years. I consider them as having sufficient technical competence.
He also actively collaborates closely with the upstream Netfilter project. This kind of contributions are
of high value for the Debian project.
