I support Yogeswaran Umasankar <kd8mbd@gmail.com>'s request to become a Debian Developer, uploading.
I have worked with Yogeswaran Umasankar in various Python packages
for 6 months and I consider them as having sufficient technical competence.

I've started to work near to Yogeswaran Umasankar around December 2023.
I can say that Yogeswaran started as a beginner and now Yogeswaran win
a lot of experiences in the packaging.

The packages began to become more and more perfect, to the point that
when Yogeswaran sends me a package to review I know that it will be
100% ready for upload or with minimal cosmetic details. Yogeswaran take
care of their packages, Yogeswaran has 30 packages with allow permissions
most of them I give the upload permissions, all of them up-to-date and
without RC bugs.

I have personally worked with Yogeswaran Umasankar <kd8mbd@gmail.com>
(key 5F7DDE9CAFE9CD9D083BEE3F47DAC12E5D3610E6) for 6 months, and I

For nm.debian.org, at 2024-06-04:
I support Yogeswaran Umasankar <kd8mbd@gmail.com>'s request to become a Debian Developer, uploading.
I have worked with Yogeswaran Umasankar on Python packages, mostly new, but also some bug fixes, since mid-December 2023 and I consider them as having sufficient technical competence.

As I wrote in Yogeswaran's advocacy for becoming a Debian Maintainer, they turned to me for sponsoring their new Python packages.
Every time I found the packages to be in a really good shape, with autopkgtest and attentively composed debian/copyright.
I pointed out venues for improvement, and Yogeswaran attentively implemented changes according to them.
In addition, Yogeswaran helped me in fixing a pair of longstanding Python transition bugs in packages I maintain.
Yogeswaran helped a lot in updating python-fabio to new upstream release by carefully test-rebuilding all the reverse dependencies.
I believe Yogeswaran would make a great addition to Debian Developers caring about scientific packages, in particular chemistry and electronics.
