Declaration of intent

The most important requirement for changing status in Debian is to make sure that a person actually intends to do so.

This requirement has been approved by Housekeeping Robot <nm@debian.org> 1 week, 3 days ago.

For nm.debian.org, on 2025-05-04:
I would like to apply to change my status in Debian to Debian Developer, uploading.

I have been a Debian Maintainer since February 2024, working mainly within the
Debian Science and Debian Python teams.

Among others, I have worked on:
* PETSc, petsc4py, SLEPc, slepc4py
* FEniCS (dijitso, dolfin, ffc, fiat, mshr, ufl)
* FEniCSx (adios4dolfinx, dolfinx-mpc, fenics-basix, fenics-dolfinx,
           fenics-ffcx, fenics-ufl, fenicsx-performance-tests)
* gmsh and getdp

Furthermore, I introduced Debian packages for:
* pusimp, that I developed for specific needs of FEniCS' and FEniCSx' Debian
  packaging
* python-pyvista and its dependency python-scooby
* python-nbstripout

I also carried out some uploads contributing minor fixes to packages managed
with the teams I work with.

Even though I will keep working in close collaboration with the DDs within the
teams above, I apply for a DD, upl status in order to continue the work I am
currently doing with full privileges, especially for what concerns the
possibility to upload to NEW and to access a broader range of porter boxes.
