I support Nadzeya Hutsko <nadzya.info@gmail.com>'s request to become a Debian
Developer, uploading.

I have worked with Nadzeya Hutsko on Rust team packaging since the last Debconf
in Brest. While I've personally only sponsored a few uploads prepared by
Nadzeya, I've known her to be a consistent and competent contributor within the
Rust team for almost a year now. I consider her as having sufficient technical
competence, and would gladly welcome her as full member of the project.

Since 20th Aug 2025 I sponsored their uploads to Debian. Right from the beginning they were actively
helping with transitions of rust crates, which require great care to do correctly. Furthermore, they worked on their
own packages, such as doxx, pastel and rbw.
All contributions within the rust team were of high quality, which was very pleasant to review and sponsor.
During minidebconf hamburg I had the pleasure of meeting them in person, where I sponsored their uploads of torf-cli
and mstpd. Those packages were also very well packaged following current best practice.

I am glad to have them helping within the rust team, especially with the transitions.

can be trusted to be a full member of Debian, and have unsupervised, unrestricted upload rights, right now.

I have personally worked with Nadzeya Hutsko <nadzya.info@gmail.com> (key

in person at DebConf25 in Brest and at MiniDebConf Hamburg 2026.

I did not sponsor packages to Debian for Nadzeya, but I am familiar with
her work in the Debian Rust team and with her packaging work in Ubuntu,
which is consistently of high quality.

I have worked with Nadzeya Hutsko in the Debian Rust Team for 10 months and I consider her as having
sufficient technical competence.

First as a sponsored maintainer and then as a Debian Maintainer, Nadzeya showed care and skill in
her work in Rust Team. We worked through a large number of transitions, introduction of new
packages and updates, and I personally gave her DM permissions for 10+ packages. From a technical
perspective, I have no doubt Nadzeya is ready to take the next step and become a DD.

In addition to her technical skills, Nadzeya is able to create and maintain a sense of community
which is much needed in Debian. Her participation to Debian events dates back to when she wasn't
even a DM, and her involvement with Debian is ever growing. Becoming a DD would but be the
acknowledgement of a status which she has already earned IRL.
