I support Rony João de Sousa <ronyjdesousa@gmail.com>'s request to become a
Debian Maintainer. I have worked with Rony João de Sousa on many Q&A work they
have done in Debian for almost 4 months now and I consider them as having
sufficient technical competence.

We met at MiniDebConf Maceió 2025 for the first time and talked about a lot of
technical stuff about his area of expertise which is networking. We have met
again during this year's MiniDebConf Campinas, where Rony joined for the
MiniDebCamp preceding the event. There Rony showed interest in learning to
package and many DDs gathered around and helped him to learn. I was one of them
and the ability to learn quick and listen to feedback really impressed me.
Since then, I have reviewed his work on multiple packages and basically only
asked some minor cosmetic changes. Right now, I'm actually holding Rony back
because my lack of time to review his work and upload to Debian. Although he
has reached out to other sponsors, I believe he has enough knowledge to carry
on uploads on his own.

I have personally worked with Rony João de Sousa <ronyjdesousa@gmail.com> (key
29EB41AFA40A9F385CD81522C70441F70B1593E3) for one year and a half, and I know
Rony João de Sousa can be trusted to have upload rights for their own packages,
right now.

I support Rony João de Sousa <ronyjdesousa@gmail.com>'s request to become a
Debian Maintainer.

My first interaction with Rony was in 2023, during MiniDebConf Brazil, and
since then I've seen him at every MiniDebConf we've held in Brazil. This year,
he asked me to sponsor some of his uploads, and it was a great experience.
Reviewing packages is time-consuming, but thanks to his attention to detail,
reviewing his work was a pleasure. I consider Rony to have sufficient technical
competence to become a Debian Maintainer.
