I support disaster2life <disaster2life@autistici.org>'s request to
become a Debian Developer, non-uploading.
During DebConf24 in Busan, for which I was the lead organiser,
disaster2life actively volunteered on the Front Desk and Registration
team. Beyond these specific roles, disaster2life assisted with various
on-site tasks and helped attendees at all hours, day and night,
e.g. guiding lost people, assisting attendees. disaster2life also
volunteered as a Talk Meister for several sessions.
During DebConf25 and DebConf26, although I was not very involved,
whenever I visited the front desk, disaster2life was always there,
handling attendee-related work very smoothly. During DebConf26,
disaster2life chaired the daily orga meetings with a strong sense of
responsibility.
It would be great value to have disaster2life as a member of Debian.
I have personally worked with disaster2life <disaster2life@autistici.org>
(key 2DF17804AF1D156ECD93AB960F4CAAF719C31DBC) for DebConf24 preparation
time and the entire conference schedule, and I know disaster2life can be
trusted to be a full member of Debian, right now.

I met disaster2life <disaster2life@autistici.org> online as part of the
DebConf24 organization cycle, and in person in Busan for DebConf24. We have
worked together through three DebConf conferences, and he has shown to be a
very careful and responsible person, attentive to detail. He has been
fundamental to the work of our conference's Front Desk, which is not a
small feat. I am happy that today, during DebCamp just before DebConf26, he
finally requested for this status change.
He is very committed to Debian's core values, and I trust that, by joining
our project, he will become a great asset and help inspire more young,
talented people to join.
It is a honor for me to advocate disaster2life to become a Non-Uploading
Debian Developer.
— Gunnar.

For nm.debian.org, at 2026-07-16:
I support disaster2life <disaster2life@autistici.org>'s request to become a Debian Developer, non-uploading.
I have worked* with disaster2life for three years, mostly on DebConf organisation and I deeply appreciate the amazing Debconf frontdesk work he offers us every year. disaster2life has fully incorporated the spirit of the project, and am sure that Debian will benefit from his input on our decisions. I also hope that this application will encourage others to join Debian, even if they are not primarily interested in the technical side of the project.
* 'worked' here can mostly be read as 'interacted', as I haven't been directly involved in the organisation of DebConf for a few years now. However, I have worked with him on many in-person issues over the years during the conference.

For nm.debian.org, at 2026-07-16:
I support disaster2life <disaster2life@autistici.org>'s request to become a Debian Developer, non-uploading.
I have worked with disaster2life on DebConf activities for more than 2 years and I consider them as having sufficient technical competence.
They were very responsible and dedicated in handling front desk and registration team activities in 2024, 2025 and on going 2026 DebConfs. Within a short amount of time, they have become an important part of the DebConf orga and I am more than happy to advocate them to be a Debian Developer. They are also very much into Debian and Debian philosophy. I am sure they are competent enough to become a Debian Developer (non-uploading) both philosophically and technically.
