2016-07-11 12:26 locutusofborg Declaration of intent req_unapprove Hi, I'm afraid you did not fully understand the meaning of the documentation. You can already maintain your package, just by seeking for sponsors e.g. by opening an RFS bug or getting in touch on debian-mentors mail list (or irc channel on OFTC). Being a DD is what allows you to directly upload on the Debian archive, but this can be done *after* you already showed your packaging skills, did some (lot) of work for the Debian project, and somebody (another DD) has enough confidence in your work to Advocate you. The first step is: start maintain your package with a sponsor, apply for DM and get uploads packages for it, and then start contributing more around the project. Right now, I'm afraid, DD is not the correct status (maybe Debian Contributor) might be more appropriate. Good luck in doing some Debian work, and seeking for a Sponsor! yes
