since *I* joined Debian about 15 years ago. He has been an active part
of the Debian teTeX and later the Debian TeX Team for many years, longer
than myself! He is regularly contributing code, fixing bugs, and
maintaining packages for which I have acted as sponsor.
I am myself surprised that he never applied for DM status, but my guess
is that his contributions were mostly within the Debian TeX Team
maintained packages, and thus no need for separate DM state was necessary.
I fully trust him and I am strongly suggesting to approve him after the
necessary procedures to DM status.
