I support Nilesh Patra <npatra974@gmail.com>'s request to become Debian Maintainer.
I have worked with Nilesh Patra in the Debian Med project (as well as in Debian Science and R pkg team) for several monthes. Nilesh has provided extremely valuable work in terms of bug fixing and writing autopkgtests. He has contributed to the Debian Med COVID-19 sprint very valuable work. Nilesh became one of the most active members of the Debian Med team.
I'd be very happy if Nilesh Patra would become upload rights for his own packages since I fully trust him to do self standing work.

For nm.debian.org, at 2020-05-31:
I support Nilesh Patra <npatra974@gmail.com>'s request to become a Debian Maintainer.
Back in 2019, I first helped him with his first hello-world package and since then
I've just seen him do amazing work in Debian.
I've known him and seen his work for over an year now and seeing his knowledge,
willingness to learn, and his ability to solve problems he's dealt with, I'd be happy
to even advocate him for a DD now :)
I've sponsored many of his packages and he's, indeed, an amazing person to work with.
I have personally worked with Nilesh Patra <npatra974@gmail.com> (key 3E99A526F5DCC0CBBF1CEEA600BAE74B343369F1)
for over an year now, and I know Nilesh Patra can be trusted to have upload rights for his
own packages, right now.

For nm.debian.org, at 2020-05-31:
I support Nilesh Patra <npatra974@gmail.com>'s request to become Debian Maintainer.
I have worked with Nilesh Patra in javascript team for many months and I would
like him to be able to upload his own packages and team maintained packages.
He is not afraid of taking hard and complex problems and already helped in many
transitions (grpc/protobuf transition, node-babel, node-webpack to name a few).
I was already willing to advocate him long back, but covid-19 delayed getting a
DD to sign his key. He also helps new contributors with reviews and support in
IRC/matrix channels/groups.
