I know Marcel personally from a while back in academic context, where we had good discussions on Haskell and GHC. He since began to contribute to Debian via the Debian Haskell Group, where he maintained existing packages and added additional ones over the last years. He wants to branch out beyond just Haskell packaging, and I support him in that.
