For nm.debian.org, at 2021-11-30:

I'm advocating Kristian Nielsen <knielsen@knielsen-hq.org> to become
a Debian Maintainer. I have been Kristian's sponsor for the openscad
package for the past two and a half years and he has done an excellent
job keeping this rather complex package up to date and in good shape.

He has maintained the package across a large number of architectures in
Debian unstable and was usually very quick to find and fix build issues
and other bugs. He has maintained a close relationship with upstream
and consequently contributed his patches back to the OpenSCAD project.

Furthermore, he also took great care to make sure the package was DFSG-
compliant and the debian/copyright would always match the current contents
of the source package.

One of the the main upstream developers of OpenSCAD, Torsten Paul, is a
close friend of mine and he has worked together with Kristian on a frequent
basis within the OpenSCAD project and his experiences with Kristian,
both regarding his social and technical skills, are in line with the
impression that I have of him.

I have also met Kristian in person during one of the last FOSDEMs and had
a chance to talk to him. I am therefore confident to trust Kristian with
maintaining the openscad package in Debian by himself which is why I support
his decision to become a Debian Maintainer.
