Details from alpernebbi:
For nm.debian.org, at 2022-11-27:
I would like to apply to change my status in Debian to Debian Maintainer.
I'm working on making Debian easier to install and use on Chromebooks.
I have been doing hardware enablement for the one I have on the kernel
and initramfs related packages since around 2019, and helped enable
graphical installer support for the ARM64 architecture. See links below
added in case you want to review my contributions [1-4].
I have written and packaged custom software ("depthcharge-tools" [5]) to
handle the bootloader specifics on Chromebooks. My package was recently
sponsored into the archive, and my sponsor expressed intent to grant me
upload rights for it. I would appreciate that.
What remains for installer integration is new udeb packages for
partitioning support and a post-install step, and changes to installer
build process to make custom images. I gave a talk about all these at
DebConf22 [5], and intend to finish them as soon as possible. I hope an
official DM status will demonstrate I'm serious about maintaining my
work going forward, and make it quicker and easier to get things
reviewed and merged.
Beyond that, I'm interested in doing more hardware enablement for other
Chromebooks and any installer modernization efforts that might
materialize.
