For nm.debian.org, at 2024-01-19:
I support Yogeswaran Umasankar <kd8mbd@gmail.com>'s request to become a Debian Maintainer.
I have worked with Yogeswaran on Python packages, mostly new, but also some bug fixes, since mid-December 2023 and I consider them as having sufficient technical competence.
Yogeswaran turned to me for sponsoring their new Python packages.
Every time I found the packages to be in a really good shape, with autopkgtest and attentively composed debian/copyright.
I pointed out venues for improvement, and Yogeswaran attentively implemented changes according to them.
In addition, Yogeswaran helped me in fixing a pair of longstanding Python transition bugs in packages I maintain.
I believe Yogeswaran would make a great addition to Debian Maintainers caring about scientific packages, in particular chemistry and electronics.
I have personally worked with Yogeswaran Umasankar <kd8mbd@gmail.com> (key 5F7DDE9CAFE9CD9D083BEE3F47DAC12E5D3610E6) for a month.
I believe Yogeswaran Umasankar can be trusted to have upload rights for their own packages, right now.

I have worked with Yogeswaran Umasankar on python-ml-collections,
pacparser and other random packages holding on the Python3.11 -> 3.12
transition and I consider them as having sufficient technical competence.
I'd like to follow him closely and sponsor more of his QA efforts.

I support Yogeswaran Umasankar <kd8mbd@gmail.com>'s request to become a Debian Maintainer.
I have worked with Yogeswaran Umasankar on python-pyrgg, python-pycm, python-opem, python-disptrans and circuits
(I still have some package to reviewfor) from end November 2023 and I consider them as having sufficient
technical competence.
I worked with Yogeswaran mostly to introduce new package in Debian, but in the last weeks Yogeswaran started
to work in fix bugs of the transition to Python3.12. Yogeswaran has knowledge about building Debian Pythton packages
and understand how to fix issues during the build and autopkgtest tests. When I pointed some improves in the packages,
Yogeswaran implemented without issues.
